Downtown Johnson City has become home to yet another new business!

This time, it is a Californian technology company in need of expansion in the Southeast. Tech-savvy East Tennesseans are what attracted Unitas Global to Johnson City.

“Unitas expanded to Johnson City because of its exceptional talent in IT support and help desk,” said Elaine Gilruth, director of marketing for Unitas Global. “Because of our recent partnership with an enterprise client, we developed an immediate need to grow our managed services team within the Southeastern United States.”

Unitas Global, a Los Angeles-based company, manages IT support and services for global businesses using cloud-based technologies. By handling these technicalities, they allow their clients to focus more on core business endeavors instead of IT issues.

For Unitas’ first few months in Johnson City, their home was at Spark Plus, an extension of Spark Plaza’s co-working space in the Fountain Place building. They have recently graduated to their own office space in the King Building, on Main Street.

“Johnson City has allowed us to expand and bring many qualified & delightful new members in to the Unitas team,” said Gilruth. “We’ve had nine new employees in Johnson City join since we opened our offices, putting us at 10 total.”

Gilruth said that Unitas plans to use Johnson City as a platform to continue their growth and partnerships with clients in need of IT support in the Southeast.
